Subsequent Loss

Today, I learned of the passing of a colleague. A fellow teacher. A beautiful spirit. Today, I was reminded, all too suddenly, how fleeting life can be. One moment you've got the most beautiful baby in the world growing like a weed, the next they’re on life supports only to be laid to rest just days later. One moment you're learning strategies to engage students, the next you’re told of the tragic news of a life taken too soon. Life can change in an instant, and typically you won't be prepared. Hug your loved ones tight. Complain less. Love harder. And don’t take anyone you love for granted.
